We all have our views about Creepers – Punk, 1950s – but it is said that actually an early version was a boot with a crepe sole in WW2. Then it is thought that the word ‘crepe’ contributed to the name ‘creeper’ in later years. It was George Cox in Northampton, GB that developed them commercially in 1949, so hats off to Mr Cox!
